WHY the Smiley? Lots of people ask us “What in the heck does a SMILEY FACE have to do with Credit Card Processing and why does everything TMC does, have a Smiley attached to it?”- we love the question and here is the simple answer. MOST business owners do not find JOY in working with their credit card processor- in fact, quite the opposite! So when we decided to take care of businesses and their processing needs, we knew we had to be different. The SMILEY FACE sends a certain message: We are glad to see you, hear you, work with you and to be of service. We CARE about you and we will do everything we can to put a smile on your face. Credit card processing is one of the products we provide but Taking Care of People and delivering a SMILE WORTHY experience is who we are and WHY we do what we do.

Surcharge: Yes or No

In July of last year, we reported the changes that were coming with regards to the ability of merchants to ‘ surcharge’ or add a fee when their customers paid with a credit card. (See the article here) For years, the practice was prohibited by Visa/MasterCard but just like the rest of the credit card processing industry, the landscape for surcharging has changed. THE REGULATIONS: CHANGED!In November 2012, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York preliminarily approved a proposed settlement agreement in the In re Payment Card Interchange Fee and Merchant Discount Antitrust Litigation. Let’s Get Reconnected!

After the events of December 14th, 2012 in Newtown Connecticut- it seems difficult to make sense of the senseless violence in our world. Anger, hatred, opposing viewpoints and every other reason we have to be at odds with each other, just doesn’t make the loss of 20 innocent children any easier to explain. Our weekly blog is typically dedicated to a business topic or industry related theme that can help the businesses we serve. Today, our blog will be about the state of Disconnection & Isolation that leads to these types of horrific events. I believe the topic can also be of use in our businesses; if we take the time to find more reasons to know our customers, add value and to be of service: if we

The Future of Plastic

The credit card processing industry is changing rapidly. Last week, I had a merchant ask me if I thought there would be any major changes in the credit card processing in the next several years. My immediate response was OF COURSE– it is one of the reasons why we love the industry so much. We never get bored and we are always working to stay up to speed on the changes . I then went to my resources and found a good video on the use of plastic and the chip technology we are already helping our financial partners with. The video is brief and worth the time- click on the picture and take a quick glimpse into our future! Cheri PerryMonday, December 10, 2012

Who Is In Charge?

Growing up, I was the oldest of my 5 siblings and if you asked me who was in charge, I would tell you that it was me; of course! But in our every day world, we sometimes believe that outside sources, other people and even the weather are ‘in charge’ of what happens in our lives. The following article was written by Jim Rohn and it really speaks to the question of Who Is Really In Charge? I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed ‘thinking’ I was in charge of my siblings so many years ago! November 12, 2012 Who Is Really In Charge? by Jim Rohn Finally, the elections are over. Some of you are certainly very happy and some are probably unhappy with
