WHY the Smiley? Lots of people ask us “What in the heck does a SMILEY FACE have to do with Credit Card Processing and why does everything TMC does, have a Smiley attached to it?”- we love the question and here is the simple answer. MOST business owners do not find JOY in working with their credit card processor- in fact, quite the opposite! So when we decided to take care of businesses and their processing needs, we knew we had to be different. The SMILEY FACE sends a certain message: We are glad to see you, hear you, work with you and to be of service. We CARE about you and we will do everything we can to put a smile on your face. Credit card processing is one of the products we provide but Taking Care of People and delivering a SMILE WORTHY experience is who we are and WHY we do what we do.

Supporting Small Business

One of the great pleasures of our business is the fact that we get to work with so many small businesses across America.

This past week, I had the privilege of spending some time installing new terminals for several of our merchants and I was once again reminded of WHY I love what we do here at TMC.

THE HEARTBEAT OF COMMUNITIES Each of the business owners I worked with this past week reminded me that small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities. These are the places where you can go to connect with your local friends and families.

I was in Ridgefield Washington on Friday and got to meet lots of people at the Starliner. Kids shopping around, a lady needing a cardboard box to use at her home, and an older couple just stopping by for some evening snacks- it was a moment right out of history and something you just don’t experience outside of our smaller communities.

SERVICE AT ITS BEST Just like that old TV show CHEERS, our small business owners have a special gift for remembering names and tidbits about our lives. They greet you with a smile and welcome you into their lives with open arms. That kind of service is much rarer than we would like to see these days and much more prevalent at the small businesses located all across our America.

LEAVING A LEGACY Many of the businesses we serve are second, third and even 4th generation businesses. Back in the day, your parents or their parents (and so on) went to work everyday to create a lasting legacy- an entity that would survive them and provide an opportunity for their families to serve and support the communities they lived in. When you venture in to these kinds of businesses, you can feel the history and see that the ‘Legacy Building’ in action.

Why not take a trip to visit some local businesses? Life can get busy but we should never forget that there are amazing places, friendly faces and wonderful businesses supporting our communities.
