Great morning, friends!
If you know me, you know I love to share my road trip lessons, and my recent trip to California was no exception.
It started with a glorious sunset Thursday night, which led to me staying up way too late. That set the stage for my very first lesson of the trip the next morning…The Forgotten Bag

I arrived at the airport, smiling and chatting with a few people as we deplaned. It was such a nice day, so I decided to walk over to Terminal A to grab my rental car.
Everything was smooth sailing… until I opened the back door to put in my luggage. That’s when it hit me.
No luggage.
I had left my bag in the overhead bin on the plane.
Gratitude in Action
I quickly locked up my rental car and hustled back to the terminal, where three kind souls, Antonio, Lisa, and Bella who made sure my bag was returned to me safely.
And in that moment, I paused. I reflected. And I realized how blessed I am.
Here’s what I took away from that simple (but very real) detour:
- Even if my bag had been permanently lost, there was nothing in it I couldn’t replace.
- Gratitude is my resting place. Because of that, I was able to focus on the gifts in the moment instead of the inconvenience.
- A delay or change in plans is never the end of the story, it’s just an opportunity to keep walking.
In all my years of travel, I’ve never left a bag on a plane. But Friday reminded me to slow down, reflect, and return to gratitude.
Your Business Lesson for October
