In order to reach our goals and dreams, oftentimes we have to venture outside of our comfort zones because that is where life gets interesting! You might be thinking ‘interesting’- GREAT! I do not need any more ‘interesting’ in my life and operating every single day is tough enough without moving outside of my comfort zone!

But hear me out- there truly is LIFE: Outside of Your Comfort Zone.

(Psychology) a situation or position in which a person feels secure, comfortable, or in control.

I’m Doing Fine in My Comfort Zone: How bad could it be? Secure, comfortable, controlled? If you think your comfort zone is exactly where you should be operating- then its time to ask yourself a few questions. Have you taken your business where you want it to go? Have you set and reached your goals? Does the thought of growing your business just sound plain boring or just like a plain old waste of time? If things are exactly as you like them and you feel as if there is no need for future growth then a visit outside of the comfort zone may not be necessary. On the other hand, if you want to shake things up a bit- you may need to consider venturing outside of your comfort zone.

It Frightens Me: Just the sound of operating ‘outside’ of that warm, secure, and perfectly controlled environment is enough to make some of us run for cover! After all a ‘comfort zone’ sounds so inviting and well- so comfortable! If operating outside of your comfort zone is frightening then that is exactly where you SHOULD consider operating. After all, your comfort zone is sure to expand as you take those first few steps into the often fruitful and sometimes frightening area- just outside your comfort zone!

Time For Action: OK so life inside ‘the zone’ can be cushy, comfortable & controlled. On the ‘outside’ however, lies a vast world of unexpected, unexplored, and sometimes uncontrollable possibilities! So take inventory of your current situation, write down the things you would like to adjust and get ready!
