Over the years, people have often asked me why I’m so passionate about credit card processing.
For a long time, my answer was simple: because I love what I do.
But a recent conversation with a member of my team made me rethink that answer.
She told me something very honest. She said, “I enjoy working here, but I don’t love credit card processing.”
The more I thought about it, the more I realized something important.
Neither do I.
What I truly love isn’t the mechanics of credit card processing. What I love is why we do what we do.
Loving the “Why”
The real passion behind our business comes from the reason we exist.
Our industry has a long history of confusing pricing, hidden fees, and equipment that is sold for far more than it should be. I have always been deeply frustrated by the number of business owners who are taken advantage of simply because they don’t know the right questions to ask.
Helping business owners avoid those situations is what drives our team.
Providing honest, integrity-based solutions and supporting businesses that work hard every day is incredibly rewarding. That purpose is what fuels our passion.
Loving the “Who”
That conversation also reminded me that our work isn’t just about what we do or why we do it.
It’s also about who we do it for.
We work for ourselves — to pursue meaningful work and accomplish our goals.
We work for our families — to build the life and opportunities we want for the people we love.
We work for our teams — to contribute to something larger than ourselves.
And we work for our clients — to ensure they receive the quality service and honest guidance they deserve.
When you think about it that way, the people behind the work become a powerful source of motivation.
Blooming Where You Are Planted
When I was younger, I imagined many different careers. I thought about becoming a lawyer, an actor, or even an inspirational speaker. Owning a credit card processing company was never part of the original plan.
But life has a way of planting us in places we didn’t expect. What matters most is what we do once we’re there. When we focus on the purpose behind our work and the people we serve, even unexpected paths can become incredibly meaningful.
Take a moment today to reflect on your own work.
Think about your why and the people your work impacts.
You may find that blooming where you’re planted brings more purpose than you ever expected.
