There comes a point in every growth journey when life crosses its arms, tilts its head, and asks,
“Do you really believe what you teach?”
I’ve spent years reading, writing, and creating tools about personal development. I’ve stood on stages encouraging people to expect, embrace, and employ change- to trust that every disruption carries a divine invitation to grow. I’ve coached others to find gratitude in the middle of the storm.
And then life decided to hand me my own syllabus.
Suddenly, every principle I’d ever learned or written stared me down.
Do you really trust the process?
Do you believe in purpose when your heart’s breaking?
Will you practice gratitude when it feels like loss has the last word?
The truth is, theory becomes transformation only when it’s lived. And lately, I’ve been living it- stumbling, learning, sometimes crying through it- but still standing. Because I’ve learned that integrity in teaching doesn’t mean perfection; it means consistency. It means showing up for your own lessons with the same humility and courage you ask of others.
Growth doesn’t always look like sunshine and success. Sometimes it looks like a woman standing at the crossroads of old identity and new purpose, choosing to move forward anyway. Sometimes it sounds like laughter through tears, or the quiet whisper:
“Yes, Lord. I still believe.”
So, if life’s testing you too, take heart. It’s not a punishment; it’s a proving ground. It’s the universe, or God Himself, saying, “You’re ready to embody what you’ve been teaching.”
I may not have all the answers, but I’m still showing up- coffee in one hand, faith in the other- ready to keep learning, keep loving, and keep becoming.
