When I was growing up, it was very common for our parents to take us to their work- in fact, we spent lots of time there and we learned how to do lots of cool and interesting things. Thinking back, I really loved the times my Dad would take us on trips to his suppliers. Just a week or two ago, I spoke to an older gentleman who gave me notepads, pencils and rubberbands when I was just a young girl- oh what memories! Working with our kids can be such a rewarding experience for all involved!
On the 4th Thursday every April, nearly 3.5 Million businesses participate in Bring Your Child to Work Day with the goal of helping our kids explore their career opportunities.
This week, our TMC kids will be able to participate in the following activities:
- Answering Phones
- Shipping Terminals
- Business Lunch
- Q & A Session (via WebEx)
- Break Time
We LOVE spending this time with our staffs’ children and find it quite revealing on how they really ‘bring their A game’ to work! Often times we find that while we may be doing to teaching, we are also the ones doing much of the LEARNING!
Children have such a beautiful honesty about them; having them in our work environment (even for just a few hours) can teach us so much! If you are blessed to be surrounded by Children this week, soak it up and see what you can take from these amazing little souls!!
